HPP- Thematic Network
In November 2025, the proposal submitted by VPH - The Society for In Silico Medicine on behalf of a wide range of partners, on the topic “Bridging the gap between innovation and adoption: building the foundations for trusted AI and Virtual Human Twins in health and care” was selected as one of the thematic networks for the 2026 Health Policy Platform cycle. This is a major step forward for in silico medicine and for Europe’s transition toward responsible, trusted adoption of AI and Virtual Human Twins in health and care.
The proposal aims at bringing together patients, clinicians, policymakers, regulators, academia, and industry to turn innovation into real-world impact. Through this Thematic Network and the organisation of a number of key webinars, VPH and their partners will:
-
Deliver actionable policy recommendations for regulators, providers, and payers
-
Build on the VHT Roadmap developed by the EDITH-CSA project
-
Strengthen Europe’s ecosystem for trustworthy, human-centered digital health technologies

The VHT-AI Thematic Network invites stakeholders across healthcare, research, industry, and policy to contribute to its Joint Statement on building responsible ecosystem solutions for AI and Virtual Human Twins in healthcare. Following a successful EU Health Policy Platform webinar, the initiative now moves from dialogue to action, addressing key challenges in adoption, reimbursement, regulation, and trust to support the integration of these innovations into European health systems.

WEBINAR 2
"Pathways to Facilitate the Adoption of Virtual Human Twin and AI"
This 120-minute webinar is dedicated to co-defining the adoption pathway for virtual human twins and AI in Europe. After a brief recap on landscape, the session aims to inform, involve, and align key stakeholders—including technology developers, regulators, and health system procurers—to establish a clear baseline and actionable adoption and integration strategies.
To drive this mission, the webinar features case studies from EU and non-EU regions, alongside expert insights on innovation procurement and payer perspectives. It concludes with an extensive round-table discussion on core adoption challenges and interactive consensus-building to map out the next steps for drafting a collaborative joint statement.
